Meet Keyonnah, a 19 year old from North Carolina. Keyonnah says that she is in an online-” turned very passionate”- relationship with what appears to be the rapper Bow Wow. 0_O. Keyonnah believes that she met him on his FB fan page 4 months ago. She messaged him on and told him how much she loved him, and he actually responded. From there they began talking over the phone. Keyonnah says that they talk about their daughters and how much they would like each other if they met. She says they’ve tried to videochat, but Bow Wow always claims to have a bad connection. What makes this situation interesting is that the person she’s been “dating” has sent her over $10,000.
Keyonnah told Bow Wow that she works part time at McDonald’s and models on the side for extra cash. Over the course of their relationship, Bow Wow has had his assistant Larry Brown send Keyonnah money to help out with her bills. Keyonnah says that she tried to give it back, but Bow Wow told her to keep the money. So instead, Keyonnah decided to use the extra cash to help her family whenever she could since she lives with her aunt.
The original page that Keyonnah met Bow Wow on he has since deleted, so the only thing Nev and Max have to figure out who this person really is, is through the phone number. They find an online interview with Bow Wow where he says that he constantly videochats with his daughter via Skype while he’s on the road. Nev also does a search of the phone number and it is registered to a Renee from North Carolina (only a little distance away). With a little further digging they find that Renee has a son named Maurice who also has a daughter and is self-employed. Maurice could be the impersonator, but that’s unlikely. For the finally nail in the coffin, Nev calls his MTV connections and finds that Bow Wow’s assistant is named Ant, and not Larry. Of course.
Nev and Max finally call the Bow Wow impersonator. He doesn’t pick up the phone, but instead text messages Nev back asking, “who is this?” Bow Wow claims that he can’t talk because he’s too busy filming the show. No matter what Nev says, Bow Wow refuses to admit that he isn’t who he says he is. Frustrated, Nev leaves the lines of communication open if Bow Wow wants to meet Keyonnah. The next day Bow Wow text messages Nev and says that he’ll be in Atlanta for only one day, and wants to meet Keyonnah before he heads out.
The Meet up…
“Bow Wow” is actually a lesbian stud rapper named Dee Pimpen who is 23 years old. Dee says that she knew that Keyonnah wouldn’t accept the fact that Dee is a girl, but still wants to be a friend and financial supporter. Dee says that she created the page to attract straight females and bed them. Through Dee’s music career, she was able to afford to help Keyonnah financially. However, Dee admits that she wasn’t even the one who Keyonnah was on the phone with, but claims that she still has strong feelings for Keyonnah. Ok, girl.
Dee says that she tricks girls into thinking that she’s a guy even when they become sexually active. Dee is actually shocked that Keyonnah isn’t ok with the fact that she’s a girl. Dee believes that she can turn any girl out, and is up for the challenge. Dee states that in time, Keyonnah will come around.
Later back at the hotel, Max and Nev try and search for “Dee Pimpin”,however they can’t find anything about her being a performer. It’s clear that they don’t have the whole story. Keyonnah agrees to meet up once again to find out the whole truth. She gets to meet Dee’s cousin Frank who apologizes to Keyonnah for lying to her. Dee says that she’s been borrowing from her friends to give to Keyonnah. Dee’s friends have been giving her the money under the premise that they’re helping Dee further her music career. No matter what Keyonnah says in response, Dee continues to hope that they can build a relationship.
One month later..
Keyonnah is still single and is taking time to recover from Dee. She has plans to go back to school and continues to take care of her daughter.Dee has reached out to Keyonnah, but Keyonnah has yet to respond.
Dee now has a job so that she can pay back her friends, and no longer uses Facebook to Catfish people.
